Travel RN MedSurg-Tele Float Pool NightsThe Registered Nurse (RN) protects, promotes, and optimizes health and abilities. This role involves the prevention of illness and injury and the alleviation of suffering through the diagnosis and treatment of human responses. The RN serves as an advocate for the care of individuals and families. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, delegating, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating nursing care. The RN manages a group of patients, serving as a primary nurse and/or accountable nurse as designated by unit assignment. Nursing care is managed while considering factors related to safety, effectiveness, competency, cost, and impact. The RN educates patients and families in health promotion and disease management using available resources. A working knowledge of pharmacology is utilized to safely administer medications. The RN shares in responsibility for productivity and effective resource utilization, including staffing, time management, supplies, and services. Compliance with all nursing practice standards, regulatory requirements, and policies is expected. Active participation in the Nursing Shared Governance Model is encouraged. The RN supports the Unit Council, participates in improvement initiatives, and contributes to peer review practices. Professional development and completion of mandatory education requirements are actively engaged in. Integration of nursing research and current evidence into practice is essential. The RN provides a supportive learning environment for new employees and students.
