Front-end Engineer

Role Overview Peraton is hiring a mid‑level Front‑End Engineer for a full‑time role based in Maryland. The position focuses on building user‑facing components for a generative AI platform, ensuring high performance, accessibility, and responsive design for analysts and program managers. Location Maryland – on‑site. Remote or hybrid options are not supported. Required Qualifications 5+ years of professional front‑end engineering experience and a Bachelor’s degree, or 3+ years with a Master’s degree, or a PhD in Computer Science, UX Engineering, or a related field Hands‑on professional front‑end engineering experience Working knowledge of Python Expert proficiency in React and TypeScript Experience with data visualization libraries (Plotly.js, D3.js, or similar) Strong CSS/styling skills with experience in UX principles and responsive design Understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1) Experience with state‑management patterns and front‑end architecture Familiarity with WebSocket or server‑sent events for real‑time updates U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain or maintain a Secret clearance Preferred Qualifications Experience building analytical or BI dashboard interfaces Familiarity with Markdown rendering and code‑editor components Knowledge of SVG manipulation and animation Key Responsibilities Implement rendering pipelines for diverse content types: Markdown, HTML, SVG, Plotly JSON, interactive Gantt charts (.msp.json), and data tables Develop domain‑specific UI components Build the skills autocomplete system, slash‑command UX, and mode selector interface Implement the Data Explorer UI panel for interactive database browsing and filtering Create responsive, accessible interfaces that work across desktop and tablet form factors Optimize front‑end performance for large datasets and complex visualizations Collaborate with Visualization/Dashboard Engineers on interactive chart components #J-18808-Ljbffr TryApplyNow
