Lead Mobile Diesel Mechanic

$35.00–$45.00/hr+ Over Time + Performance Bonuses

About the Job

Outfitted with a company service truck, a guaranteed 40-hour workweek, and personal tool support, this field-based role offers exceptional variety, autonomy, and earning potential.

We are seeking a dependable mobile diesel technician to deliver expert on-site maintenance and repairs for commercial clients across the Charlotte Metro area—focusing on Charlotte, Huntersville, Cornelius, Concord, Mooresville, Statesville, Kannapolis, and Harrisburg.

In this role, you will diagnose complex issues, operate independently, and perform a wide range of field repairs directly at customer locations to keep commercial fleets running smoothly.

Typical Work Includes

• Diagnostics and troubleshooting for Semi’s and Medium to Heavy Duty diesel and gas vehicles
• Preventative Maintenance services and roadside repairs
• Servicing Air-Brakes, no-starts, electrical issues, HVAC, liftgate and general repairs
• Medium, and heavy-duty diesel/gas vehicles (Class 2-8)
• Thorough job documentation
• Limited (but some) customer interaction & communication

Schedule

• Full-time with overtime opportunities (40 Hours Guaranteed)
• Some Saturday/Sunday, and early morning / late evening work depending on availability and desire for overtime and incentives
• Occasional after-hours calls (bonused)

What We're Looking For

• 8+ years diesel mechanic experience, comfortable working on gas vehicles as well
• Diagnostic ability and scan tool experience (Diesel Laptops a plus)
• Solid working knowledge of engine, air brake, electrical/multiplex, aftertreatment (DPF/DEF/SCR), suspension, and hydraulic systems
• Ability to work independently, with little or no in-person supervision
• Solid phone, text and email communication skills
• Comfortable working with computers / email / sms - we use ShopMonkey & Diesel Laptops
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Able to supply your own general hand tools
• Able to lift at least 70 lbs, use ladders / crawlers around vehicles
• Able to be based in or reliably cover the Charlotte Metro area with the company provided vehicle - occasional travel to the edge of the service areas should be expected

• Mobile diesel repair or similar roadside / on-customer-site service experience
• RV service and repair experience
• Field Welding experience
• Heavy Equipment Service and Repair
• Aftertreatment / emissions systems
• DOT Inspection Services
• ASE certification T2+
• EPA Section 609
• Multiplex/databus electrical systems (J1939)
