Senior Robotics Verification & Validation (V&V) Engineering Manager

Johnson & Johnson seeks a Senior Robotics Verification & Validation Engineering Manager to lead a team overseeing robotic product compliance and safety for orthopedic applications. The role ensures systems meet regulatory requirements and clinical standards through comprehensive testing and cross-functional collaboration in a Boston-based hybrid environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead V&V and Integration Engineering team to ensure robotic systems meet subsystem and system-level requirements
• Develop and execute comprehensive V&V strategies, master test plans, and system verification protocols for complex medical devices
• Define testable requirements, ensure traceability from user needs through verification and validation using risk-based approaches
• Coordinate external test facility engagements and maintain robotics lab facilities, equipment calibration, and compliance standards
• Prepare system-level V&V documentation, investigate non-conformances, and support regulatory submissions and product launches

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biomedical, Systems, or Electrical Engineering or related field
• 7+ years of V&V engineering experience in medical device industry
• Strong systems engineering principles and product development lifecycle knowledge
• Proficiency with requirements management tools such as DOORS, Jama, or Polarion
• Experience with Class II or Class III medical device development
• FDA regulations and ISO 13485 compliance expertise
• Team leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills
