Transfer Evaluator

Job Profile Summary Under limited supervision, this position supports student enrollment by evaluating transfer students' academic records and military coursework from other academic institutions. Employees in this classification utilize the student evaluation system—including degree audit and academic transcripts—to determine the accuracy and efficacy of credential evaluation in processing student grades, transcripts, academic credentials, and related information in accordance with current policy and procedure. Additional duties as assigned may be performed. Minimum Education Bachelor's Degree required. An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered. Minimum Experience and Training Four years of experience in evaluating student academic transcripts and/or related experience in admissions, advisement, and student records. Bilingual (Spanish, French, and/or Creole) preferred. Essential Functions Daily - 30%: Use the student evaluation system to assess the efficacy and accuracy of evaluative processes. Daily - 15%: Perform accurate credential evaluation of grades, transcripts, academic credentials, and other relevant data in compliance with current policy and procedure. Daily - 10%: Ensure compliance with College policies and FERPA by coordinating requests for student record information and verifying student qualifications and academic progress. Daily - 10%: Ensure compliance with applicable Federal and State laws, regulations, and College policies by managing and maintaining academic student records. Daily - 10%: Provide assistance to faculty, staff, and students by clarifying issues related to student record access and evaluation. Daily - 10%: Resolve day-to-day issues by investigating and consulting with other institutions or Academic disciplines regarding record relevancy and equivalency. Daily - 5%: Update student records by ordering transcripts through the Florida Automated System for Transferring Electronic Records. Daily - 5%: Assist entry-level staff by providing training on practical instruction, policies, practices, and procedures related to transfer student record evaluation. Daily - 5%: Perform related duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Proficiency in professional and functional standards and protocols of the position. General understanding of the College’s structure, policies, and practices, and their impact on the area of responsibility. Ability to contribute in multiple related areas within the function. Expertise in following project plans, including coordination of multiple resources and activities. Ability to coordinate interdependencies of work within the area and with external resources. Strong communication and collaboration skills, including presentation abilities. Advanced knowledge of computerized systems and operating environments, including Microsoft Office products and specialized systems. Ability to interact effectively with employees and student populations.
