Key Qualifications:

• Certification from the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) or an equivalent credential is strongly preferred
• License or eligibility to work as a Sign Language Interpreter within Kansas school settings
• Demonstrated fluency in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Previous school-based interpreting experience appreciated
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational abilities

Responsibilities:

• Deliver sign language interpretation in classrooms, during school-related activities, and for academic events
• Serve as a vital link between students, teachers, staff, and peers, ensuring access to curriculum and participation
• Interpret a variety of settings, including classroom instruction, assemblies, and staff meetings
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold all relevant policies and professional standards
• Collaborate with educators, special education professionals, and families to promote student success
• Assist with required documentation and fulfill additional duties as assigned
