About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Med Surg Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: ADN required Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: Experience in Med/Surg, nephrology, kidney transplants, renal, and dialysis Description: This position is located in a medical facility's transplant nephrology unit. The unit has 20 beds and maintains a patient ratio of 1:6. There is an available unit secretary during the day, along with patient care technicians and an educator. Documentation is done using the Meditech system. Scheduling requires three weekend shifts per month. There are no on-call requirements. Agency or contract nurses are expected to float first, as per the floating policy. There are specific patient experience requirements within this assignment. Procedures performed on this unit include medical/surgical care, with dialysis provided off the unit. The dress code consists of royal blue scrubs, with the option to wear black scrub pants. Unit-specific policies and guidelines will be provided to the hired candidate. This unit has received an award for teamwork. Additional support is provided through a virtual nurse who handles patient admissions, allowing bedside nurses to focus on their patients.
