Position Overview

Are you a compassionate, detail-oriented Medical Assistant who thrives in a fast-paced clinical setting? The Medical Assistant supports efficient, patient-centered care by triaging patients, collecting and documenting clinical information, and assisting providers within scope of practice in our urgent care clinics.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet and escort patients from the waiting room to treatment areas
• Create a calm, respectful, and supportive patient experience
• Perform triage, including vital signs and basic assessments
• Collect and document health history, medications, allergies, and social/family history
• Accurately enter patient information into the electronic medical record
• Maintain patient privacy and follow HIPAA privacy and security standards
• Assist providers with patient care tasks within scope (physicals, splinting, procedures, etc.)
• Assist with waived lab testing, drug screens, blood alcohol testing, spirometry, and specimen handling
• Support clinic operations (inventory, cleaning, room setup, equipment logs, basic maintenance)
• Assist with telehealth triage and patient discharge as needed
• Use de-escalation skills and professionalism in high-stress situations

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• 1–3 years of experience with direct patient contact preferred
• Strong computer skills and comfort using an electronic medical record
• Ability to multitask, stay organized, and maintain accuracy and attention to detail
• Knowledge of healthcare safety and compliance standards (HIPAA, OSHA, blood borne pathogens, infection control)
• Ability to follow clinical protocols and manufacturer instructions for waived lab testing
• CNA or Medical Assistant certification preferred, but not required
• Ability to meet physical demands of the role: frequent standing and walking; light lifting up to 20 lbs; reaching, stooping, crouching, pushing, and pulling (with reasonable accommodations as needed)
