Account Executive, Group Sales

The Account Executive, Group Sales is responsible for driving new business through outbound prospecting, cold calling, networking events, referrals, and face-to-face meetings to generate revenue through full menu selling with a primary focus on group ticket sales. The Group Sales Representative will identify, create, and execute innovative group sales initiatives that attract new audiences, grow attendance, and generate incremental revenue. Success in this role requires creativity, persistence, and the ability to build meaningful relationships within the community and business sectors.

Primary Duties / Responsibilities:

  • Execute sales campaigns, initiatives, and training programs established by leadership.
  • Meet or exceed annual revenue goals through full menu selling, with a primary emphasis on group ticket sales.
  • Prospect and generate new business opportunities through cold calling, networking events, referrals, community outreach, and strategic partnerships.
  • Sell the full menu of ticket products, including group tickets, season memberships, partial plans, hospitality packages, and specialty experiences.
  • Identify, develop, and cultivate relationships with businesses, schools, youth sports organizations, nonprofits, affinity groups, and community organizations to drive group sales revenue.
  • Create, brainstorm, and help execute new group sales programs, theme nights, and promotional initiatives designed to engage targeted audiences and generate attendance growth.
  • Work collaboratively with internal departments to bring new group experiences and group night concepts to life, from idea generation through execution.
  • Maintain or exceed daily, weekly, and monthly hustle metrics, including outbound calls, appointments, presentations, and networking activities as established by leadership.
  • Develop and manage a consistent sales pipeline by identifying, qualifying, and nurturing prospects through the sales process.
  • Deliver compelling sales presentations and customized proposals to prospective clients and organizations.
  • Maintain accurate records of all prospecting, sales activities, and customer interactions within CRM.
  • Provide outstanding customer service to all clients, group leaders, and fans.
  • Execute account growth strategies through renewals, upsells, and cross-selling opportunities.
  • Participate in community events, networking functions, and other external events to generate sales leads and strengthen market presence.
  • Attend and actively contribute to sales meetings, training sessions, and department huddles.
  • Follow all CRM standards, sales processes, and contact management guidelines established by leadership.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Game Day Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a sales and service representative during Dallas Wings home games.
  • Host and engage group leaders, prospects, and clients to create new business opportunities and strengthen relationships.
  • Assist with the execution of group experiences, theme nights, recognition programs, and other group-related events.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to clients, group leaders, members, and fans.
  • Support ticket sales activations, lead generation efforts, and fan engagement initiatives.
  • Float to other areas as assigned once primary responsibilities are completed.
  • Prolonged standing, walking, and extended work hours.
  • Must be available to attend all home games for Dallas Wings, as well as attend most community events. Games & events may take place on nights, weekends, and/or holidays.

This position reports to: Manager of Group Sales. Do Other Positions Report to This Position? No. If so, what titles report to this position and how many of each?

Job Requirements:

  • Formal Education: Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Relevant Work Experience:
    • 2+ years of sports sales experience and/or relevant experience required
    • Sports experience preferred
  • Work Location & Hours: Work is performed in the community, office and/or at one of the arenas as determined necessary by the Company. Must be available to attend all home games for Dallas Wings, as well as attend company events. Games & events may take place on nights, weekends, and/or holidays.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking
  • Hearing, seeing, reading, writing, concentration, comprehension, and talking with clear speech.
  • Planning, organizing, interpreting data, making decisions, problem-solving, and composure under deadlines/stress.
