Family Medicine Physician

Parkland Grand Prairie Health Center is seeking a Board-Certified Family Medicine Physician to join its outpatient community health practice serving an underserved patient population. This role provides comprehensive primary care services to patients of all ages in a collaborative, patient-centered environment associated with a nationally recognized Level I Teaching Hospital. The physician will provide a mix of pediatric and adult medicine, with approximately 30% of the patient panel consisting of pediatric patients. The position emphasizes preventive care, chronic disease management, wellness services, and treatment of acute medical conditions while supporting continuity of care within the community. This is a 100% outpatient opportunity with no inpatient responsibilities and a predictable Monday through Friday schedule.

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Patient Volume: Approximately 20 patients per day

Patient Mix: All ages, including approximately 30% pediatric patients

Clinical Allocation: 1.5 days per week Pediatrics; 3.5 days per week Adult Medicine

EMR: Epic

Call Coverage: Phone/Beeper Call, approximately one week annually

Job Accountabilities:

• Provide comprehensive outpatient primary care services for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
• Diagnose, treat, and manage acute and chronic medical conditions.
• Conduct preventive health screenings, routine physical examinations, and wellness visits.
• Manage chronic diseases and develop individualized treatment plans.
• Provide pediatric primary care, including well-child visits, immunizations, and common pediatric illnesses.
• Educate patients and families on disease prevention, health maintenance, and treatment plans.
• Coordinate care with specialists, ancillary services, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation within Epic EMR.
• Participate in limited annual phone/beeper call coverage as assigned.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and organizational goals related to patient outcomes and access to care.
• Deliver culturally sensitive and patient-centered care to an underserved community population.

Skills or Special Abilities:

• Board Certification in Family Medicine required.
• Strong outpatient primary care experience across all age groups.
• Ability to effectively care for both pediatric and adult patient populations.
• Experience serving underserved or community-based patient populations preferred.
• Excellent diagnostic, clinical, and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and patient education abilities.
• Ability to build trusting relationships with patients and families.
• Experience collaborating within multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Proficiency with electronic medical records, preferably Epic.
• Strong organizational, documentation, and time-management skills.
• Commitment to preventive medicine, continuity of care, and patient-centered healthcare delivery.
