Job Summary Night shift (7p‑7a), fulltime RN position in a 28‑bed Med Surg unit focused on post‑surgical patients, with overflow to general Med Surg and telemetry. Magnet‑designated campus with Leapfrog patient‑safety accolades, Prism award for Med Surg excellence, and 4‑star CMS patient‑satisfaction rating. Enhanced sign‑on bonus up to $20K for RN’s with one year plus experience. New graduates should apply for the Nurse Residency program. Core Responsibilities Exemplary Practice and Outcomes A. Performs the Nursing Process (assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, evaluation) using evidence‑based practice and critical thinking to individualize care. B. Provides relationship‑based, patient‑centered care tailored to population characteristics and cultural diversity. C. Partners with patients and significant others, using appropriate communication methods (bedside shift reports, interdisciplinary rounds, planned teaching) to keep goals focused. D. Practices using current clinical standards. Teamwork and Collaboration A. Coordinates delivery and documentation of safe quality care, using diverse communication methods and timely documentation. B. Demonstrates fiscal responsibility and promotes recruitment and retention of team members. C. Participates in performance improvement, research utilization, and shared governance across all levels. Professional Development and Initiative A. Completes mandatory competency assessments and ongoing education (population‑specific). B. Serves as preceptor/mentor for other nurses, students, and staff to maintain a qualified workforce. Evidence‑Based Practice and Research A. Promotes evidence‑based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement. B. Supports decision‑making through value analysis for patient‑care products. C. Collects data and consults experts to address practice questions. Resources and Support A. Proactively plans patient care across the continuum. B. Required Minimum Education Associate degree in Nursing or Diploma (RN) preferred; Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred. Required Minimum Experience Minimum 5 years RN experience; preferred direct patient care experience. Required Minimum Skills Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
