Description:

FabMax is looking for a dependable and detail-oriented Assembly Set-Up & Operator to join our growing manufacturing team in Wood Dale.

This position is responsible for assembling hardware and components safely, accurately, and efficiently while following blueprints, routers, inspection requirements, and established quality standards.

This is a great opportunity for someone with sheet metal or manufacturing experience who wants steady work, plenty of overtime opportunities, and the ability to grow within the company.

Responsibilities

• Assemble hardware and components according to blueprints and work instructions.
• Read and understand blueprints, diagrams, routers, and related production documentation.
• Use basic hand tools including Allen wrenches, torque wrenches, and screwdrivers.
• Use basic measuring tools to verify work and product quality.
• Complete required documentation, including in-process inspection plans, routers, and quality records.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Follow FabMax quality policies, procedures, safety requirements, and production standards.
• Identify and suggest improvements to assembly methods, quality, efficiency, and workplace organization.
• Work effectively as part of the production team.
• Assist with training other employees on general assembly processes as experience and proficiency develop.

Requirements:

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience working in the sheet metal industry.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and diagrams.
• Experience using basic hand tools and measuring equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Good problem-solving skills.
• Dependable and able to work in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk throughout the workday.
