This Special Education Teaching position centers around making a difference for a group of motivated 7th graders in a cross-categorical classroom environment. With a manageable caseload of 10 students presenting a variety of disabilities, you’ll collaborate closely alongside eight experienced special education colleagues to ensure every student’s needs and strengths are recognized and nurtured.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid certification in Special Education (or eligibility in Wisconsin)
• Prior experience with middle school students preferred
• Strong skills in developing, updating, and implementing IEPs, with a few currently due
• Ability to adapt instruction across disability areas and learning styles
• Excellent communication and team collaboration skills

What You’ll Do:

• Provide individualized and small-group instruction to meet diverse learning goals
• Develop and update IEPs, progress-monitoring, and documentation in compliance with guidelines
• Partner with core teachers, aides, and your team of eight special educators for effective inclusion and support
• Foster a safe and welcoming environment for students with varying needs
• Participate in parent meetings, team planning, and ongoing student assessment
• Deliver engaging lesson plans that accommodate a cross-categorical caseload
