Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated, organized, and detail-oriented Legal Assistant/ Paralegal to join our growing team. The ideal candidate has experience in civil litigation, is comfortable working in a fast-paced legal environment, and can effectively manage multiple assignments and deadlines.
In this role, you will play an important role in supporting personal injury cases from inception through resolution, ensuring smooth case management and effective client communication. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to impactful litigation work both independently and collaboratively with attorneys and staff.
Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys with all phases of litigation, including discovery requests, discovery responses, deposition preparations, drafting Complaints, and mediation briefs.
- Conduct legal research using Westlaw and LexisNexis
- Draft legal documents including pleadings, oppositions, and motions
- Support trial preparation and prepare witness lists, exhibit lists, trial binders, and other pretrial filings
- Track deadlines and manage multiple cases efficiently through strong organizational skills
Experience
- Prior experience as a legal assistant, litigation assistant, or paralegal preferred.
- Experience with discovery related requests and responses.
- Familiarity with legal research tools such as Westlaw or LexisNexis is essential.
- Strong research skills combined with excellent legal writing, drafting, proofreading, and client communication abilities.
- Organized and able to prioritize competing deadlines.
- Ability to work collaboratively, while also taking initiative and working independently.
- Ability to follow through on assignments and complete assigned tasks.
