Senior Project Scheduler / Planner

Senior Project Scheduler / Planner New York, NY (Hybrid) Responsible for developing, maintaining, and managing complex project schedules supporting infrastructure and transit projects in New York City. The role requires scheduling expertise using Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and other tools, ensuring schedule integrity and alignment with project objectives. Key Accountabilities Independently create, update, and monitor project schedules in P6 in accordance with client standards and templates. Coordinate closely with local project teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure compliance with contractual requirements and reporting obligations. Generate monthly and quarterly updates of EAC, labor demand, and other performance metrics. Prepare reports and metrics, including Critical Path, Earned Value, EAC variance, milestone movements, KPIs, and labor forecasts. Conduct scheduling risk analysis and use data trends to identify risks and issues, developing mitigation strategies with the Core Team. Support critical bids by creating a comprehensive bid schedule, assessing contractual requirements, and providing a schedule narrative as required. Implement Earned Value Management (EVM) and other metrics to monitor schedule performance and protect contractual deliverables. Generate S‑Curves from scratch, communicate results, and provide commentary to the Core Team. Negotiate with customers, suppliers, and scheduler stakeholders to influence schedules cost‑effectively. Input change orders into the project change management process, calculating schedule implications and ensuring incorporation. Participate in risk and opportunity reviews, calculating schedule impacts and managing mitigation/action items. Foster cooperation and buy‑in among project team members and discipline heads. Produce clear reporting to management and customers as required by process or contract. Justify claims and variation orders with creative and effective rationale. Provide guidance to project schedulers and planners as needed. Identify and implement process improvements. Key Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or related field. Minimum 7 years of scheduling experience on complex technology projects, with at least 3 years supporting New York projects. Expert proficiency in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project; working knowledge of schedule integration and cost/resource loading. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel. Strong understanding of Critical Path Method (CPM), project controls, and construction sequencing. Ability to plan and manage schedules with over 1,500 activities. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Self‑starting, proactive, and capable of working independently with little oversight. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of TILOS and Primavera Risk Analysis. Experience with bid planning for competitors in industry. Benefits Estimated annual salary: USD $104,115 – $131,790.
