Respiratory Therapist

This position requires night shifts, specifically a 3x12 hour schedule.

The Respiratory Therapist provides quality patient care, administering intensive respiratory care and patient transport as medically prescribed, and operates within the scope of their professional license under minimal supervision. They evaluate patients and recommend treatment plans, explain procedures and treatments, and educate patients upon discharge.

Responsibilities include:

• Conduct routine treatments using various ventilatory equipment, oxygen and aerosol devices, and nebulizers.
• Perform chest physiotherapy and suctioning through multiple methods.
• Monitor oximetry, perform capnography monitoring, and conduct pulmonary function studies as per policy.
• Assist in procedures related to respiratory care, including bronchoscopy and chest tube placements.
• Manage tracheostomy care including insertion and removal of tubes.
• Perform arterial punctures and evaluate ventilation efficiency, documenting and reporting test results.
• Facilitate maintenance and repair of respiratory equipment and ensure accurate record-keeping of therapy administered.
• Communicate effectively with healthcare team members regarding patient care and therapy efficiency.

Qualified candidates must possess the appropriate respiratory therapy licensure and certifications, demonstrating the ability to perform all listed responsibilities competently.
