Food Service Workers

Description:

Westminster Canterbury of Lynchburg, a 5-Star rated Continuing Care Retirement Community in Central VA is seeking a Dining Services Worker. This is an entry level, PRN (approximately 16- hours/week) position. Hours are primarily Evenings from 4 PM to 9 PM with occasional need for hours from 11 AM to 4 PM on weekends.

Perform routine food service tasks with minimal supervision to include: preparation of small quantities of fresh produce and related salad items and desserts; service and storage of foods; cleaning and sanitation of work areas, equipment, dishware; and wait staff duties to residents while in service areas such as caf and Dogwood Dining Rooms.

• Performs routine food service tasks under direct supervision.
• Displays a cheerful, helpful, and courteous appearance.
• Assist with preparation of salads appetizers, desserts, and garnish.
• Operates the cash register and follows all cash handling procedures as assigned.
• Stocks beverage area as well as grab and go items.
• Assist other team members with job duties as needed or assigned.
• Perform routine cleaning and sanitation in dining service areas.
• Previous customer service experience is preferred but not required.
• Prior cashier/cash handling experience is preferred but not required.

• Previous customer service experience preferred (0-2 years).
• Ability and willingness to learn new skills.
• Ability to work well with all types of individuals.
