Key Responsibilities

• Provides routine and complex nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Administers medications and treatments per appropriate protocol; monitors for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments.
• Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with scope of practice.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medications administered, and care provided.
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identifies issues and available resources.
• Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers as needed to manage the clinical situation.

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of employment or valid compact license.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Ability to work rotating weekend shifts (approximately 2–4 shifts per month).
• Willingness to float to all Medical/Surgical departments as needed.
• Ability to work night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM).

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Medical/Surgical nursing specialty preferred.
• Experience practicing independently in a similar clinical setting with the ability to manage complex contingencies.
