Summary
The Manager, Client Accounts, working in collaboration with and in support of the firm’s strategic initiatives, will be responsible for ensuring the exceptional delivery of Billing support to senior management, lawyers, and firm clients. This position will provide thought leadership in the development and implementation of best practices in Billing processes, ensuring alignment with the firm’s strategic goals.

This position can sit in any of our US offices and offers a hybrid work schedule.

Responsibilities

• Partners with stakeholders to understand business needs, implement best practices for Global Billing and Reporting, and drive results through innovation and thought leadership.
• Leads Client Account Analysts, ensuring alignment with firm billing practices, policies, and procedures while providing daily supervision, support, and guidance.
• Oversees monthly billing close and open processes, provides issue-resolution guidance, and escalates delays or concerns to senior leadership.
• Ensures assignments are completed timely and meet internal and external client expectations.
• Meets regularly with direct reports to provide coaching, training, development feedback, performance reviews, and annual review discussions.
• Provides training to promote consistent application of global billing and reporting processes and policies across the department.
• Onboards new team members and provides guidance on global billing and reporting processes, procedures, and required training.
• Serves as an escalation point for clients, attorneys, and business professionals; researches and resolves issues, including account analysis, to support timely resolution.
• Escalates unresolved global billing or reporting issues to senior management to support timely resolution.
• Tracks team metrics, analyzes service-level trends, and implements solutions to maintain exceptional client service.
• Creates, maintains, and validates complex monthly reporting; identifies additional reporting needs to strengthen client support.
• Supports project management initiatives and leads projects through planning, development, and execution.
• Meets regularly with assigned team members, prepares agendas, and tracks key discussion items.
• Tracks and resolves daily tickets assigned to Analysts in the Reports, Time Inquiries, and US Global Billing ServiceNow queues.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Must have strong attention to detail. Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex problems required. Must have proven analytical skills. Has the ability to work independently and is able to take direction well. Has ability to lead and manage a diverse team and provide training and guidance to ensure consistent application of billing procedures across the team. Must exercise sound judgment and decision-making skills.

Minimum Education

• High School Diploma or GED.

Preferred Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or similar field highly preferred.

Minimum Years of Experience

• 7 years of experience in a billing function in a law or professional services firm. Two years of experience in a management or supervisory position is highly preferred. Strong computer skills including advanced proficiency of Excel as well as accounting systems such as Elite and/or Aderant (Aderant experience strongly preferred). Advanced experience with e-Billing applications is required.

Physical Demands

Sedentary work: This is primarily sedentary work, requiring occasional exertion of up to 10 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects. The role involves sitting for extended periods, with occasional walking and standing, and occasional travel, both domestic and international.

Work Environment

The individual selected for this position may have the opportunity for a hybrid work arrangement comprised of remote and in-office work, the requirement for which will be determined in coordination with the hiring manager or supervisor and may be modified in the firm’s discretion in the future.

The firm’s expected hiring range for this position is $112,879 - $179,481 per year depending on the candidate’s geographic market location.

The compensation offered for employment will also be dependent on other factors including the candidate’s experience, skills, educational and professional background, and overall qualifications. We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, and 401(k).
