The Shift Leader makes sure the team has a clear understanding of brand standards, expectations, products, cleanliness, new directives, and Guest connections during the shift.Core ResponsibilitiesDemonstrates mastery of every Team Member responsibility with confidence, enthusiasm, and excellenceLeads shifts with an unwavering commitment to Make Fun Happen — keeping the team engaged, the energy up, and the shift on trackOptimizes product sales while effectively managing waste and maintaining an inviting, well-executed coffeehouse environment.Knows the day's deployment and the roles tied to it, communicating clearly on the floor to keep the shift movingReads the needs of the team, anticipates the shift's competing priorities, and delegates objectives and tasks accordinglyTakes ownership of the current shift and sets up a smooth hand-off for the shift that followsEnsures the team executes standard operating procedures and upholds Caribou's standards for quality, cash handling, and store safety and securityCoaches and trains the team in the moment — on role responsibilities, product knowledge, promotions, and recipe prep, including adjustments for a guest's requestPerforms administrative tasks timely with integrity and follow-through, including bank deposits, inventory, and product ordersActively develops Team Members, providing coaching and feedback in the momentBrings the Core Values to life in all that you do: Support One Another, Make Fun Happen, Be Yourself, Take Ownership, Serve With LoveOwns the decision-making that comes with being Manager on Duty, staying resilient and calm under pressureLeads with humility, curiosity, and heart — building an inclusive culture on every shift and taking full ownership of their own growth and the impact they have on othersTrains new team members on role responsibilities, product knowledge, and promotional itemsArrives on time for every scheduled shift, prepared and ready to contribute to the team's success.Skills and QualificationsRequired:At least 6 months of experience in a leadership role, or properly trained and approved to take on Shift Leader responsibilitiesTo support the needs of the business and the team, Shift Leaders are expected to maintain flexible availability.
