Occupational Therapy Faculty OpportunitiesThe UTMB Department of Occupational Therapy aims to foster a community of educators, scholars, evidence-based practitioners, and leaders in the profession of occupational therapy who will generate, apply, and disseminate innovative knowledge about participation in everyday life for individuals, groups, and populations.The University of Texas Medical Branch actively seeks multiple faculty for the Department of Occupational Therapy. The department has been approved to offer an Additional Location hybrid education program at Laredo, TX. Areas of expertise sought are Research methods, Theory, Mental Health, Cognitive Rehabilitation, Geriatrics, and Adult rehabilitation. Experience in developing a hybrid curriculum will be valued.The Department of Occupational Therapy at UTMB invites applications for a full-time faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank. Faculty appointment is for our established residential OTD program in Galveston, Texas.We seek dynamic educators and scholars with expertise in one or more of the following areas:Adult RehabilitationNeurologic RehabilitationCognitive RehabilitationMental HealthGeriatricsResearch MethodsOccupational Therapy Theory and FoundationsExperience with hybrid or technology-enhanced teaching is desirable.Required Qualifications:Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) or other doctoral degree in occupational therapy or a related discipline (e.g., PhD, DHSc, DSc).Licensed Occupational Therapist, or eligible for licensure, in the State of Texas.Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service.Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaborative skills.Preferred Qualifications:Experience teaching in an ACOTE-accredited occupational therapy program.Experience with curriculum development, instructional design, or hybrid/online education.Expertise in one or more of the specialty areas listed above.Record of scholarly activity and professional engagement.Responsibilities:Teaching and advising students in the entry-level OTD curriculum.Contributing to curriculum development and program assessment.Engaging in scholarship and professional service activities.Participating in departmental, school, and university committees.Supporting student success, fieldwork, and capstone experiences.Participating in faculty practice opportunities as applicable.Salary: Commensurate with experience.Equal Employment Opportunity:UTMB Health strives to provide equal opportunity employment without regard to race, color, religion, age, national origin, sex, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity/expression, genetic information, disability, veteran status, or any other basis protected by institutional policy or by federal, state or local laws unless such distinction is required by law.
