We combine a multi-venue contemporary art museum, boutique hotel and a chef driven restaurant to create a unique and welcoming opportunity.Come join our Flock!The Bartender provides timely, accurate and friendly service while preparing the highest quality beverages for each guest.Specific responsibilities include:Following all steps of service.Providing superior service behind the bar by preparing drinks according to recipe standards.Knowing drink names, ingredients, method of preparation, appropriate glassware, and garnishes.Knowing all wines by the glass and at least five wines in each category on the wine list in varying price ranges and styles.Knowing specialty beverages, i.e., single malt scotches, cognacs, specialty drinks, and beer lists.Knowing all menu descriptions of the bar menu and dining room menu.Ensuring all stock is up to par levels.Completing daily inventory and informing servers/managers/bar back of any changes.Verifying all guests are at least 21 years of age.Providing prompt, accurate report of all income received during shift.Selling beverages responsibly with the customer's best interest in mind.Maintaining smooth flow of service between bar and server requests.Completing all side work as outlined in the manual.Reporting to work on time and ready to work scheduled shifts.Maintaining a positive, friendly attitude with co-workers and guests.Maintaining a clean, orderly appearance in the restaurant service area.Assisting with/executing any tasks as assigned by the supervisor.Following all proper sanitation guidelines.Qualifications include:Able to work flexible hours (nights, weekends).Responsible, dependable, punctual.Strong communication skills; must be able to speak, read, and understand English.Clean and professional appearance.Demonstrates enthusiasm for all things 21c.Exhibits strong beverage knowledge.Must pass a background check.Physical requirements include:Must be able to stand and walk for long periods.Requires lifting of up to 50 lbs.All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines. 21c Museum Hotels is an equal opportunity employer.
