Speech and Language Pathologist

TITLE: Speech and Language Pathologist (SLP) REPORTS TO: Building Principal / Director of Special Education
DESE Educator's Licensure in Subject Area is Required SEI Endorsement is required for ALL classroom and subject area teachers PK-12 and special education.
JOB GOAL: To provide high-quality services, assessments, and consultation across the district in collaboration with building-based and district staff.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

JOB GOAL: To provide high-quality services, assessments, and consultation across the district in collaboration with building-based and district staff.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Implements all aspects of Child Find: referring, screening, evaluating, diagnosing and recommending intervention strategies for referred students.
- Completes all assessments, including written reports within timelines mandated by IDEA.
- Completes all progress reports within timelines mandated by IDEA
- Maintains written records of service delivery for all students
- Consult with administration, staff, and families regarding interventions and strategies for identified students.
- Participates and reports evaluation results to IEP/504 eligibility meetings.
- Observe students in their learning environments, as requested
- Provides direct clinical services to students in a variety of settings, as required
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with evaluation instruments and tools.
- Medicaid session reporting
- Supervise SLPA's who service schools on their caseload.
- Consult with other medical/clinical professionals, as needed.
- Valid License to Practice as a Registered Speech and Language Pathologist in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
- Previous experience working in a school setting (min. 1-3 years)
- Experience working with all disability areas
- Experience in developing sensory diets and evaluating sensory needs.
- Bi-Lingual
- An Administrator of Special Education will evaluate performance.
