We are actively seeking a dedicated Critical Care Hospitalist Physician Assistant for an 84-day locum tenens assignment in Michigan, commencing Jul 6, 2026. This vital role involves managing an open ICU model, with an anticipated average daily census of 22 patients and approximately 2-4 admissions per day, ensuring comprehensive patient care within a critical care setting.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Manage ICU patients within an open ICU model.
• Manage an average daily census of approximately 22 patients.
• Handle 2-4 admissions per day.
• Perform Indirect Laryngoscopy Intubation.
• Execute Insertion and Management of Central Venous Catheters.
• Perform Insertion and Management of Arterial Catheters.
• Administer Moderate Sedation.
• Perform Lumbar Puncture.
• Conduct Endotracheal Intubation and Extubation.
• Manage Ventilators, including readiness for and administering respirator weaning/oxygen therapy and extubation, and assessing need for intubation.
• Perform Insertion of Arterial Lines and Central Venous Lines, either percutaneously or by cut down.
• Execute Chest Tube Insertion.
• Provide Tracheostomy care, including tube changes.
• Perform Arterial Line Insertion and Removal (Radial and Femoral).
• Execute CVC Line Placement.
• Provide External Pacing, including adjusting temporary epicardial, transvenous, or transcutaneous pacemakers as necessary.
• Manage Tension Pneumothorax in emergent situations.
• Perform Paracentesis.

• Prior experience in Critical Care is required.
