Processing Archivist
Our client, a global nonprofit, is seeking a Processing Archivist to join their team. The ideal candidate will have strong project management, analytical and critical thinking and effective communication skills.
Job Title: Processing Archivist - 1 year position
Location: Washington DC with travel to Lanham, MD location
Pay Range: $35 - $40
What's the Job?
- Create and execute a comprehensive processing plan for the analog materials
- Arrange, describe, and catalog archival materials in accordance with Describing Archives standard
- Develop detailed catalog records and findings aid to support discovery
- Process photographic materials including slides, negatives, prints, notebooks, gear and ephemera
What's Needed?
- Degree in Library Science, Archives, or Museum Studies
- 3 or more years of professional archival management experience
- Strong organizational, analytical and research skills
- Knowledge of collection management software
