Plasma Center Paramedic - EMT-P

Job Overview Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) reports to the Plasma Center Manager and supports plasma center operations. The role involves determining donor eligibility, managing donor adverse events, reviewing laboratory test results, and notifying donors of unsuitable test results. The position works under the guidance of the Center Manager or Assistant Manager for operational guidance and under the management of the Center Physician for medical issues. Responsibilities Determine donor eligibility, including informed consent, AIDS education, self‑exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and review of serological protein electrophoresis (SPE). Evaluate donor reactions and follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including developing Center Physician’s standing orders and arranging donor transport to emergency care facilities. Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for findings requiring additional medical or technical input. Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable. Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation by occupational health/ER is required. Refer to EHS guidance regarding employee incidents. Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats within the local community. Qualifications High school diploma or the graduate equivalent of a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements; or a licensed or certified EMT-Paramedic in the state of assignment. Current CPR and AED certification. Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy. Complete FDA‑approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist. Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting. Benefits Location: USA – GA – Kennesaw. Hourly wage range: $22.80 – $31.35, based on qualifications and experience.
