Surgical Technician

Surgical Technician Or First Assist Manassas, Va

Pay from: $37 per hour

MUST:

• 2+ years of experience as a surgical tech or first assist
• Experience in the ophthalmic field is a must
• Ability to arrange and pass instruments for procedures
• Experience preparing operating rooms for procedures
• Ability to maintain and order equipment and supplies for the OR and ensure equipment is working properly
• Experience cleaning and disinfecting equipment and maintaining a sterile area
• Training/courses in sterile technique, sterilization of instruments
• Licensed as a surge tech in the state of VA

DUTIES:

The duties of the surgical technician or first assist include but are not limited to the following:

• Sterilize and set up equipment for the physicians
• Prepare OR as needed prior to procedures
• Assist physicians as needed
• Ensure all supplies and inventory available for surgical procedures
• Ensure proper functioning of equipment
• Maintain inventory and make sure working properly
• Check for outdated items
• Count and maintain equipment
