About the Role

The Company is in search of an Associate General Counsel to lead its legal and compliance team, with a focus on overseeing contractual affairs. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert legal advice on a range of matters, including but not limited to, HIPAA, TEFCA, privacy, and intellectual property. This role requires a hands-on approach to developing and implementing legal and regulatory strategies that support the company's business initiatives and product offerings. The Associate General Counsel will also be involved in negotiating, drafting, and managing contracts, particularly those related to healthcare data acquisition, licensing, and commercialization. Strong business acumen, the ability to advise leadership teams, and a proven track record in managing complex contracts are essential. Applicants for the Associate General Counsel position at the company should be members of the State Bar in good standing, with at least 10 years' of experience in a senior in-house legal role, preferably in healthcare technology or data commercialization. The role demands in-depth knowledge of legal areas such as healthcare data privacy, clinical data acquisition, and interoperability, as well as experience in AI and emerging technology governance. The ideal candidate will have a background in supporting SaaS businesses, negotiating enterprise technology agreements, and advising on healthcare data exchange frameworks. Exceptional communication skills, the ability to influence decisions, and a demonstrated capacity to manage a high workload and multiple responsibilities are also required. The position is based in Seattle and follows a hybrid work schedule.
