AmeriStaff is currently seeking an experienced General Machine Operator in the Extrusion Department for a company manufacturing packaging materials. The ideal candidate should have manufacturing experience and experience operating a machine and extruder. This position creates the plastic film used to make the bags. The Extrusion Line Operator controls and monitors the film production of the designated line(s). Oversees the quality, housekeeping, and safety of the designated extrusion line(s). Maintains clear communication with all Plant Department in an effort to produce quality base film.


Benefits of the General Machine Operator:

• 12 Hour Day Shift: 7:00am to 7:00pm or 8:00am - 8:00pm - $16.00/hr
• 12 Hour Night Shift: 7:00pm to 7am - $18.00/hr

Responsibilities of the General Machine Operator:

• Work directly with the press assistant.
• Able to get changeovers done in a timely manner.
• Able to set print and registration.
• Able to fill out paperwork accurately and correctly.
• Checks ink color with PMS/X-rite.
• Able to change and set doctor blade chambers correctly and safely.
• Able to identify all if any print defects.
• Able to identify plate defects.
• Able to set and or change press tension.
• Able to identify anilox's.
• Must be able to perform the duties of the press assistant as needed.
• Adhere to safety policies and procedures.
• Perform job duties accurately so that other personnel and departments and ultimately customers receive correct information and or product.
• Maintain a customer-focused perspective in all activities initiated to ensure customer needs are successfully met.
• Work effectively with neighboring plant departments in a team environment to develop multi-functional solutions.
• Maintain good housekeeping practices throughout the areas.
• May be assigned other duties plant wide as time allows.

Requirements of the General Machine Operator:

• Vision capabilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
• Excellent communication, organizational and multi-tasking skills to communicate and coordinate effectively with internal personnel.
• Ability to read, comprehend and write correspondence, and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to fellow employees.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions and to deal with problems involving a few variables in standardized situations.
• Work in a manufacturing plant utilizing computers, dollies, forklift, hand tools, safety knives, packaging equipment, pallet jacks, and standard safety equipment.
• Utilize resource materials including production schedule and standardized forms/paperwork.
• Vision capabilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
• Must work independently.
• Must have a good attendance record.
• Must be willing and able to follow directions from supervisor.
• Must be willing and able to work overtime when required.
• Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point), Visio, and Outlook email and calendar capabilities.
• Maintains strict confidentiality and protects privacy of confidential/sensitive information.
• Exceptional time management and organization skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously establishing priorities to meet deadlines.
• Ability to communicate effectively (verbal, written, and presentations) with executive leadership, staff, and internal and external clients.
• Proactive; exercises sound judgment and decision making; able to identify problems and needs and develop solutions and/or options.
• Self-confident, self-motivated polished professional who thrives in a challenging, fast-paced environment.
• Manufacturing experience is a plus.
