Commercial Construction Superintendent – Healthcare A Superintendent directs the workflow of the project on site consistent with the project schedule, HITT safety, and quality standards. The Superintendent provides leadership, serves as a liaison between project team members to promote the interests of both the business and clients, and demonstrates the characteristics of a mid-level leader. The Superintendent communicates project priorities to site staff and all subcontractors, serving as the primary leader on site for the construction project. Responsibilities Understand and administer the HITT safety program to include all subcontractors, ensuring accidents/incidents are promptly reported, investigated, and assist in safety inspections by outside agencies. Maintain HITT quality standards for all aspects of the project. Lead all on‑site safety, managing a safe jobsite for all involved. Maintain a daily log of all activities and site conditions, manage the punch list and closeout process through owner/architect acceptance. Work with the project manager in formulating project schedule, ensuring proper methods and sequence of installation are followed, making and following through with schedule commitments, and maintaining HITT quality standards. Maintain good working relationships with all subcontractors on the project, develop relationships within the community to enhance opportunities, and ensure subcontractors are treated fairly. Ensure complete, accurate daily documentation of work orders/tickets, understand subcontractor scope of work to avoid unnecessary change orders, identify problems early, and act immediately to provide solutions. Develop and organize the site team, arrange for temporary facilities/utilities, and identify long lead items that need to be expedited. Collaborate with the project manager and site operations team throughout the life of the project. Qualifications Four‑year degree from an accredited university with a concentration in construction, engineering, or business strongly preferred; in lieu of a degree, additional work experience acceptable. 5+ years experience in commercial construction, including commercial general contractor tenant renovations, service work, work in occupied spaces, weekend work, and fast‑paced project experience. Mastery of building processes and best practices. Ability to organize necessary resources—including people, tools, and time—to meet tight deadlines and achieve desired results. Project lead experience preferred; prior superintendent or project lead experience preferred. Proficiency with sector/project‑specific software systems, including Microsoft Office suite (Project, Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.), ProCore, Adobe, BlueBeam. OSHA30 certification preferred. Ability to walk and/or stand for long periods and lift up to 50lbs. Demonstrated strong communication skills, positive attitude, passion for construction. Ability to gather data, interpret into meaningful information, and relay through clear, concise communication strategies; see how pieces and processes fit into the bigger picture and business model.
