Job Title Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical / Telemetry Location Lakewood, WA | Medical Surgical / Telemetry (Orthopedic Focus) Schedule / Job Type Contract | Nights | Every Other Weekend | Holidays Rotated as Needed | Onsite Key Responsibilities Provide direct patient care on a 34-bed Med/Surg Telemetry Orthopedic unit with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio, managing diagnoses including total joints, cardiac rule-outs, pneumonia, general surgery post-op, and psychiatric patients Initiate and manage IV drips including nitroglycerin, insulin, low-dose dopamine, dobutamine, and titrate heparin drips (weight-based) Read and interpret telemetry strips in collaboration with monitor technicians Float as needed within the region to Med/Tele, PCU, ICU (MedSurg acuity), or ER holding; regional float to additional facilities may be required Collaborate with charge nurses, house supervisors, and nurse aides (aide ratios up to 1:12) to deliver coordinated patient care Manage respiratory support equipment including CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen as needed Required Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in the state of Washington Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required Proficiency with telemetry monitoring and strip reading Experience initiating and titrating IV drips, including heparin (weight-based), nitroglycerin, insulin, dopamine, and dobutamine Ability to float to Med/Tele, PCU, ICU, or ER holding environments as needed Preferred Experience / Skills Prior experience with Epic EMR (ability to test out of Epic orientation if experienced) Background in orthopedic, cardiac, or general surgery post-operative nursing Familiarity with CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen management Experience working in a multi-facility or regional float pool environment Why Join Us Streamlined onboarding with the option to test out of EMR orientation and a structured single-shift unit orientation to get you up to speed efficiently No call or standby requirements, offering predictable scheduling with every other weekend commitment #J-18808-Ljbffr TravelNurseSource
