Senior Real Estate Accountant

Our client, a $5B+ real estate investment firm, is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their team. This role sits within a collaborative accounting team, where you’ll own financial reporting and operational accounting across a portfolio of commercial properties across the US. What You’ll Do Manage the monthly and quarterly close process, including general ledger maintenance, journal entries and accruals Prepare financial statements and reporting packages for equity partners, lenders, and internal stakeholders Maintain GL accuracy across the portfolio, including account reconciliations and transaction review Perform variance analysis on budget vs. actuals, identifying and communicating key variances to stakeholders Prepare work papers, supporting schedules, and footnotes for SEC filings and external audits Support accounting for property acquisitions and dispositions, coordinating across internal teams and third parties Drive process improvements leveraging technology and AI to enhance efficiency and reporting quality Qualifications 3+ years of hands‑on accounting experience in commercial real estate Strong background in GL / operational accounting and financial reporting experience Experience in journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals and variance analysis Proficient using MRI or Yardi, and Advanced Excel skills Comfortable using AI tools and technology to automate or improve accounting workflows Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA is a plus #J-18808-Ljbffr Coda Search│Staffing
