IT Business Applications Team Lead/PM

We need an IT Business Applications Team Lead for a 9+ month contract in Long Beach, CA.


This is a Manager-level role.


This role will be ONSITE in Long Beach, CA one day per week . Thus, our client wants a person who lives in Southern CA,


We are seeking an experienced Business Applications Team Lead for business application projects based on the client's specific goals and needs. This Senior Consultant position requires an individual with a minimum of 15 years work experience with Business Applications in information technology, staff supervision, project management, vendor management, contract management, license management, and application project delivery and maintenance.
Key responsibilities include providing feedback to team members on project deliverables, and coordinating with vendors and teammates on maintenance of software licenses and vendor contracting agreements.
Additional responsibilities may include supervising project managers and business analysts , creating project deliverables and / or providing analysis of business requirements or system design for business applications.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Provide oversight for projects with broad scope, ambiguity, and high degree of difficulty while also supervising and supporting other business application team members
2. Expert in demonstrating proficiency in a wide range of business application technologies and platforms
3. Expert with a high level of analytical ability where problems are typically unusual and difficult - gather and interpret complex qualitative or quantitative dat
4. Understand program structure, launch plan and timing, and program ownership
5. Work with project teams that include teammates and one or more vendor teams in the development of business applications and business systems for the client
6. Combining both management skills and specific information technology system knowledge, support the delivery of projects through their lifecycles, with the goal of completion within specified time and budget constraints
7. Organize and delegate tasks, and bring together ideas of team members
8. Monitor project costs and schedules while maintaining an appropriate level of quality in deliverables
9. Provide regular status reports on project health and progress. Identify and communicate any roadblocks/risks, and escalate as needed to the project sponsor and/or management


Required Knowledge and Experience
1. Structured project experience and an understanding of a variety of project and portfolio management methodologies, processes and best practices
2. Experience in managing a variety of enterprise business application projects including cloud implementations and upgrades
3. Experience managing both custom and package software solutions
4. Ability to handle ambiguity and make decisions and recommendations with limited dat
5. Solid analytical / problem-solving skills with capability to identify solutions to unusual and complex problems
6. Strong understanding of software development life cycle processes
7. System integration experience with requirements, design, testing and implementation
8. Experience creating and presenting executive communications
9. Experience creating business cases
10. Experience creating RFPs and managing vendor and / or software selection process
11. Experience with vendor contract processes
12. Experience with managing software licensing and renewals
13. Effective verbal and written communication skills
14. Proficient in the Microsoft Office product suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and MS Project
15. Supervisory experience including hiring, performance reviews, coaching, and mentoring


Desired Skills, Education and Certifications
1. Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, information technology, management information systems or equivalent.
2. 15+ years of overall IT and project management experience
3. Demonstrated experience working in a team environment
4. Experience with Oracle Primavera Unifier and P6, MS CRM, Web Applications and SharePoint is desirable
5. Knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management
6. Experienced with using project management techniques and tools
7. Proven experience in people management, risk management and issue management
8. Must possess flexibility, assertiveness, approachability, foresight, and ability to handle stressful situations
9. MBA is desirable
10. PMP certification is desirable
11. ITIL certification is desirable


We would prefer candidates who are LOCAL to the Southern C rea, or who at least live in the Pacific time zone. A VIDEO interview will be required.
