This contract role is based near Olathe, KS and gives dedicated educators an opportunity to provide crucial support and instruction within a positive and collaborative school environment. With a weekly commitment of 37.5 hours, you’ll build strong relationships with students, colleagues, and families while helping learners achieve their full potential.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Valid teaching certification in Special Education (required)
• Proven experience working with students with IEPs and diverse educational needs
• Strong understanding of instructional adaptations and differentiated strategies
• Excellent communication skills with students, families, and interdisciplinary teams
• Ability to maintain organized records and develop individualized educational plans
• Compassion, patience, and creativity in problem-solving
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Special Education or a related field

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction in accordance with IEP goals and district curriculum
• Assess student progress and adapt lesson plans to meet individual learning needs
• Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff
• Foster an inclusive, supportive, and welcoming classroom culture
• Maintain regular communication with families regarding student progress
• Create and monitor behavioral intervention plans as needed
• Uphold compliance with all federal, state, and district regulations
