Job Description:\n\nPosition: Leader - Manufacturing\nReports To: Supervisor/Department Manager\nPay Range: Level 10 – Level 24\n \n\nEssential Functions:\n \n\nCoordinates employee activities and material movement to meet production schedule for shift;\nEnsures communication/information flow between departments and shifts maintained and effective;\nProvides on the job training of employees as needed;\nSee, reads, and follows work instructions, safety procedures, and completes various forms and reports;\nWorks with key individuals to ensure compliance to Quality standards and ISO procedures;\nAssists in maintaining accurate inventories, administrative tasks, and reporting accurate/timely;\nProvides back up to supervisor as needed;\nAssists in development of employee goals and provides input on performance evaluations;\nAssists employees with tasks and breaks as needed;\nWorks with co-workers in a safe, professional, and cooperative manner;\nMaintains good attendance, flexibility in job assignments, adaptable to changing business needs, and continually learns and applies new skills;\nFollows all company policies, procedures and ensures employees do the same.\nMeets minimum physical/mental requirements with or without reasonable accommodation;\nOther duties as assigned.\n\n \n\nGeneral Duties / Responsibilities/Mental Demands:\n \nOperate Equipment: Able to operate all equipment in area of responsibility which operators in that department are required to use and maintain.\n \nAdministrative: See, read, and follow work instructions; guide, follow, and direct\n operators in the use of and compliance to policies/procedures and\n paperwork required for department…such as work instructions,\n DVQRs, Pareto charts, blue print reading, labels, ISO procedures,\n labor tickets, time cards, BOM, and other department specific\n general forms; ensure inventory accuracy and procedures followed.\n \nQuality: Collect data, use quality tools and methods, coordinate with\n auditors/engineers; participate in the problem solving process; assist\noperators as required; follow and ensure operator compliance to ISO and quality procedures.\n \n \n \nProductivity: Production floor coordination via: assign manning; maintain and\n coordinate product flow (material movement); coordinate/ensure\n fixture/work station set up as appropriate for department; ensure\n employee tools available and in good repair; meet production\n schedule and execute plan; identify variance issues.\n \n \nHealth/Safety: Follow all safety policies, guidelines and training given; identify risks;\n ensure PPE used; support plant safety programs/initiatives;\n team/project participation; primary response to coordinating\n solutions/addressing issues; support return to work; assist with\n accident reports; ensure all accidents/injuries/near misses are\n reported immediately; maintain good personal hygiene.\n \nTeamwork/Flexibility: Foster and develop communications between shifts/departments;\n build relationships with key partners in organization; team building\n between operators, shifts, and departments; follow key principles;\n motivate employees; diffuse employee issues via gathering\n information and direct employees to sources/directions on\n addressing issues; coach and support employees through change\n and company initiatives; available for OT.\n \nSet Up: Assist in area/workstation/workbench set up as needed; help find\n efficient and effective methods.\n \nOther: Contain and pass on employee issues to supervisor/manager via\n recognizing the severity and direct to management accordingly;\n participate in decision making via gathering and presenting facts;\n provide input on employee evaluations; provide OJT and specific\n instruction / training to operators as needed/required; set the\n example for performance and promote a positive work environment.\n \n\nPre-Requisites/Minimum Qualifications:\n \nOne-year certificate from college or technical school; previous similar experience; previous or demonstrated proficiency at assembly or similar manufacturing work; demonstrated leadership and organizational skills and effective/supportive communication; must be self-motivated and able to train and motivate others.
