Medical Assistant Location: 810 West Hwy 71, Marble Falls, TX Pay Rate: $20 $25/HR Employment Type: Temp to Perm (Temp) Travel: N/A Length of Assignment: 13 Weeks Work Schedule: Monday Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Occasional weekends based on department need. JOB SUMMARY: The Medical Assistant (MA) is a key clinical support professional who assists physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff in the delivery of patient-centered care in outpatient and clinic settings. The MA supports daily operational activities, clinical tasks, and patient flow processes to ensure quality care delivery. Responsibilities include performing clinical and administrative duties, preparing patients for examinations, assisting during procedures, documenting in the EMR, and providing discharge instructions per provider guidance. The MA adheres to organizational policies, safety standards, and ethical guidelines and promotes a safe environment for patients, families, and staff. Essential Functions of the Role Clinical Support: Performs clinical tasks including vital signs, patient intake, rooming, specimen collection, EKGs, and basic wound care. Assists providers with examinations and minor procedures following established protocols. Administers medications and injections under supervision and per scope of practice. Patient Care & Interaction: Creates a welcoming, supportive, and respectful environment for patients and families. Provides clear, empathetic communication during care activities and patient education. Maintains patient confidentiality and privacy at all times. Documentation & Systems: Accurately documents patient information in the Electronic Medical Record (EPIC). Reviews provider orders for accuracy and completeness, ensuring timely follow-up. Manages incoming calls, schedules appointments, and assists with refill requests per protocol. Operational Efficiency: Maintains inventory of medical supplies and ensures exam rooms are fully stocked. Ensures equipment is clean, sanitized, and ready for use. Supports staffing needs by assisting team members and stepping into cross-coverage as needed. Professional Conduct: Practices within scope defined by Texas state guidelines and organizational policies. Engages in continuing education opportunities to enhance clinical knowledge and skills. Demonstrates accountability, teamwork, integrity, and commitment to patient experience. KEY SUCCESS FACTORS Knowledge of clinical practices, medical terminology, and basic pharmacology. Familiarity with outpatient workflows and clinic operations. Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with diverse patient populations. Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and maintain accuracy under pressure. Proficiency in EPIC and general computer skills (Microsoft Office, email, medical scheduling systems). Critical thinking, problem-solving, and sound decision-making skills. Compassionate, patient-first approach with cultural sensitivity.
