Automotive Sales Manager

Description KUNES FORD OF DELAVAN is hiring an experienced Automotive Sales Manager to lead our new and used vehicle sales team. If you have a strong work ethic, excellent customer relationship skills, and thrive as a true operator — leading a team, managing inventory, and driving the customer experience, not just structuring deals — we want to hear from you. This is a hands‑on leadership role overseeing sales staff, inventory, and the customer buying experience — with real earning potential through salary plus commission. Experience preferred — we also welcome high-volume salespeople looking to step into management. What You’ll Do Lead the Sales Team – Recruit, train, coach, and motivate a team of sales professionals to consistently meet and exceed sales goals. Set the Strategy – Establish clear, achievable sales targets and drive the team's performance toward dealership objectives. Manage Inventory – Oversee new and used vehicle inventory, ensuring the showroom and lot are well‑stocked, organized, and sale‑ready. Oversee Demo & Test-Drive Vehicles – Ensure demo vehicles are properly maintained and always available for customer test drives. Review & Approve Deals – Evaluate and approve sales deals to ensure profitability and fairness for both the dealership and the customer. Own the Customer Experience – Manage customer relationships from first contact through delivery, resolving concerns quickly and professionally. Train Your Team – Run regular sales meetings and training sessions to keep staff up to date on products, promotions, and industry best practices. Drive Marketing Efforts – Support advertising campaigns and promotions to increase showroom traffic and sales volume. Requirements What We’re Looking For 2–10 years of experience in automotive sales; sales management experience preferred, but high-volume salespeople looking to grow into management are encouraged to apply Strong leadership and team‑building skills Excellent customer relationship and communication skills Proven ability to multitask across the full sales operation — from floor leadership and deal structuring to inventory oversight and customer follow‑up, not just deal‑desking alone Solid understanding of financial reports, market trends, and sales forecasting Strong math skills for calculating sales projections Problem‑solving mindset with sound decision‑making ability Good work ethic and a professional, customer‑first attitude Certifications / Licenses Salesperson's License required (or willingness to obtain one shortly after hire — we will assist with this) Valid Driver's License required Education High school diploma required; college degree preferred Equivalent combination of education and hands‑on automotive sales experience will be considered Compensation & Benefits Pay: Salary plus commission — competitive, performance-based earning potential Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance 401(k) Retirement Plan Paid Time Off (PTO) Employee Vehicle Purchase Discounts EAP = Employee Assistance Program Apply today and join a team that's driving toward success.
