Sr Mechanical Engineer

A Senior Mechanical Engineer will lead complex mechanical engineering projects, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high‑performance ISR, aviation and security solutions. Responsibilities Lead and manage complex mechanical engineering projects. Provide expert guidance on design and development of mechanical systems. Perform high‑level analyses and simulations to ensure optimal performance. Mentor junior engineers on mechanical engineering practices. Prepare and review detailed technical documentation and reports. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project success. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field. 10+ years of experience in mechanical engineering or related role; higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience. Expert understanding of mechanical design principles and CAD software. Understanding of engineering principles and practices. Experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools. Experience working in multi‑disciplinary design and development teams. Preferred Qualifications Master’s or PhD in a related field. Experience applying and interpreting Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5. Knowledge of engineering simulation such as Finite Element Analysis, Computational Fluid Dynamics, Thermal Analysis. Background in Aerospace and Defense Industry. Knowledge of industrial‑standard mechanical design principles, including parametric design, model‑based definition, material hardware selection, manufacturing, and production processes. Knowledge of environmental requirements for components used in aircraft and space applications. Experience providing technical guidance to diverse team on mechanical engineering issues. Experience with manufacturing, production, and product support, including disposition of engineering non‑conformances. Familiarity with FAA, NASA, and/or DoD design and construction regulations. Essential Functions Ability to work on a computer for extended periods of time. Occasional travel may be required. Ability to work in an office or hybrid environment. Apply systematic and logical problem‑solving techniques to develop mechanical designs. Clearly convey technical information, design specifications, and project updates to team members, stakeholders, and management. Ability to understand technical documents, designs, and test reports. Security Clearance Position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance. U.S. Citizenship is required. Only citizens can be eligible to obtain a security clearance.
