Job Description
Registered Nurse - Palliative Care

Schedule

36 or 48-hour rotating shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call as needed.

Assignment Details

Unit for patients aged 18 and up with intensive symptom management needs at end of life, also caring for general medicine overflow.

Requirements

• NYS RN License
• 2 years of recent palliative or acute med/surg experience
• BLS from AHA
• Experience with patient-controlled analgesia pumps or CHPN certification highly desired

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care and support for patients and families in crisis.
• Manage complex patient needs and perform astute assessments to advocate for patients.
• Demonstrate good IV skills and effective wound care practices.
• Facilitate symptom management for patients at end of life.
• Provide care for general medicine overflow as needed.
