Senior Core Infrastructure Engineer, Networking

Salary: $79,200 - 209,500 per year Requirements:

• Strong computer science fundamentals
• Deep understanding of networking and routing
• Experience building large-scale distributed systems
• Ability to contribute to the architecture of scalable cloud networking platforms
• Familiarity with distributed state management tools
• Knowledge of recovery-oriented design, redundancy, replication, and failover concepts
• Experience with security controls such as encryption and access management in multi-tenant environments
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code and automation tooling
• Ability to work in the U.S. may be relevant for certain roles, along with any applicable health, immunization, or drug testing requirements

• Contribute to the design and development of OCI Networkings data plane and routing foundation
• Build and scale distributed system components that support horizontal and vertical growth
• Optimize code and systems for large-scale data processing
• Implement scalability requirements and review work produced by teammates
• Use platform components to support large-scale data retrieval, storage, and processing
• Develop performance and load testing capabilities
• Help design fault-tolerant services with redundancy, replication, and automatic failover
• Apply recovery-oriented principles to handle service disruptions and network instability
• Create retry logic, circuit breakers, and timeout handling
• Build tests, alarms, dashboards, telemetry, and alerting to monitor component health
• Design and implement feature functionality and testing within existing systems
• Execute fault-injection and brown-out testing to validate correctness and availability
• Support incident response, root cause analysis, and operational troubleshooting
• Create automation scripts and tools for diagnosing and resolving operational issues
• Participate in operational support rotations
• Help improve security, compliance, and documentation across cloud infrastructure
• Maintain automation and infrastructure-as-code tooling for cloud environments
• Follow change management procedures for patching, updating, and rollback activities
• Track timelines with minimal supervision and adjust priorities as needed
• Collaborate across teams to align expectations and achieve shared goals
• Identify and resolve standard and non-standard issues, escalating when appropriate
