Job Title: Athletic Trainer 2 Department: Ambulatory Services – Sports Medicine Administration Location: Jameson Crane Sports Medicine Institute (1004) Position Type: Regular Schedule: Scheduled Hours: 40; Shift: Varying Shifts Job Summary: This position is responsible for providing outreach athletic training and duties as assigned. OSU Sports Medicine is a multi‑disciplinary outpatient program that provides health care for athletes and physically active people of all abilities. The Athletic Trainer will: Provide outreach activities including event and practice coverage, preventive practice, athletic training room coverage, educational involvement, and other duties related to coverage for college, high school, recreational or club sports. Provision of components of physical therapy treatment plans under the direct supervision of a treating physical therapist. Serve as a physician extender in physician clinics, coordinating patient flow and supporting physicians as directed to ensure timely delivery of quality care. Supervise supportive clinical personnel (e.g., aides, students), participate in a teaching capacity, and assist with administrative procedures. Work within scope of practice as outlined by the Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Athletic Trainers Board of the State of Ohio. Comply with medical center, sports medicine, and outreach policies and guidelines. Qualifications: A bachelor’s level degree in athletic training or related health science field. State of Ohio Athletic Trainer license. Board of Certification (BOC) certification. Two to three years of experience in an outpatient orthopedic/sports medicine facility (preferred). Experience working with athletic populations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Benefits: Medical, dental, and vision coverage with significant employer contribution.
