Cannabis Sales Manager

Job Description
Viridian Staffing's Client is looking for an inspiring people manager to join as Head of Sales in the Oregon market to lead a motivated team of Sales Account Executives for a fast-paced Cannabis company. This position is based in Portland, Oregon, but frequent travel will be required throughout the Portland area and other parts of the State.


Founded in 2013, Viridian Staffing ( is the Original Talent Acquisition & Talent Management Firm solely dedicated to organizations in and supporting the commercial, medical, and industrial cannabis / hemp industry.

Ideally, you'll be bringing with you a cannabis book of business to grow the number of retailers carrying the product throughout the State, while growing sales volume at existing stores, however what is most important is that you've managed a team of already exceptional Sales Account Executives, and are accustomed to helping top performers grow and develop their skill set even further. You have experience training and developing incentive plans for sales teams. You're known for your exceptional customer service, negotiation skills, have the ability to close sales using your proven communication skills, have the ability to build lasting relationships with customers and are able to help train all of your direct reports on how to execute these skills like you do. You'll have the opportunity to utilize your expert level knowledge of the company's brand to elevate the brand's community profile. If you have proven success in driving growth in Cannabis companies, are great at establishing credibility & rapport with clients, and building professional relationships, then this could be the right role for you.


Required Qualifications:

• Valid driver's license and a reliable personal vehicle for use for everyday job functions
• 8+ years of experience as a Sales Professional
• 5+ years of experience leading a geographically dispersed Sales Team; ideally, 1+ year of experience in cannabis industry sales and/or fast moving food & beverage product sales experience
• Proven experience motivating sales teams to exceed revenue targets
• Microsoft Office (including Excel) or Google suite experience (including sheets, Drive and Calendar)
• Understanding of or passion to learn the variables found across different cannabis products (Distillate & CO2, Indoor & Outdoor, CBD/THC/Terpenes, etc.)
• Exceptional Client Relationship building and written/verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• In depth understanding of METRC & Oregon Cannabis compliance laws for the cannabis industry
