Functions as a learning facilitator supporting orientation, practice transitions, and continuing education. Provides foundational education competency/skills validation to successfully move nurses from novice to beginner/competent practitioners. Accountable for defined aspects of staff development, continuing education and professional development of nursing staff to improve quality, safety, and patient outcomes. Supports system and hospital performance improvement and evidence-based practice projects and initiatives.This position will suport various units through instruction of orientation classes and supporting nursing projects and just-in-time education needs.**Education*** **Bachelor of Science Nursing- BSN (Required) or MSN (Preferred)****Certification/Licensure*** **Registered Nursing License (Required)*** **BLS, ACLS and PALS (Required)****Experience*** **Minimum of 2 years emergency (preferred), relevant nursing experience****Be a part of an excellent healthcare organization that cares about our People, Quality, Patient Safety, Service, and Integrity. Our hospital completed a renovation in 2016, including two new patient towers, a beautiful atrium, and a multi-story parking garage. Sentara Leigh Hospital includes a dedicated Orthopedic Hospital providing patients access to a full continuum of orthopedic care, from the preoperative phase and surgery to rehabilitation and home care services. Along with being a recognized accredited Primary Stroke Center, and Magnet hospital for nursing excellence, we also specialize in orthopedic and spine care, heart, vascular, maternity care, and general surgery.
