Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 4x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in an emergency department License: Valid state nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC required Must-Have: Epic charting experience; candidates must have required certifications. Description: Start date is ASAP. Shift options are 3x12 or 4x12 days. First-timers are accepted with at least 2 years of experience. Weekends are required. Floating between facilities is required. Candidates must be flexible with scheduling, including holidays. Guaranteed hours are 60 hours per 2-week period. The unit features a large emergency department with patients ranging from low acuity to high acuity, including stroke, STEMI, trauma, critically ill, behavioral health, and acute care boarding. Operating as a Level II adult trauma center and a Level III pediatric trauma center. Serves as a primary stroke receiving center and thrombectomy center accepting transfers. Daily census averages 220 visits per day. Additional support services include IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and transportation. Staffing includes high patient ratios, maintaining a focus on critical care management. Candidates should have experience with various emergency procedures and trauma-related situations. Specific skills required include arterial line management, blood product administration, care of ventilated patients, central line care/management, and interpretation of dysrhythmias. Travelers may be expected to float between facilities nearby the contracted location. Refusal to float may result in termination of assignment. All time spent on modules will be factored into working hours. Candidates must supply references covering one year of experience within the last three years.
