If you're passionate about technology and eager to make a difference, the EAIS unit is the perfect place for you to grow and thrive.Job DescriptionIn the assigned Job Role of Technology Consultant 2, your Area Of Responsibility will be as below: Contribute to the requirements elicitation process by documenting assigned parts of business requirements, in line with guidance provided Facilitate software application design discussions, and document design decisions to guide the technical team towards building software solutions Participate in coding and integrate new features or updates into existing applications, with a focus on maintaining system stability Conduct code reviews, do changes to the codebase and maintain code repositories Implement test strategies, analyse results, and coordinate bug fixes to uphold the software quality standards Develop user training programs, documentation, and support frameworks to ensure a smooth transition to new software applications Actively participate in resolving production issues and recommend preventive strategies to enhance system reliability Maintain detailed records of code, testing techniques, and support activities to enrich the knowledge base and assist other similar projectsYour contribution to the team: A collaborative spirit and excellent communication skills. The ability to handle end to end SDLC phases from requirement gathering to implementation. A knack for translating complex requirements into actionable development tasks. A passion for design and hands-on coding experience A proactive approach to testing, troubleshooting, and refining our applications. The ability to work with cross-functional teams and do software integration.Required Skill and Experience• One Data is a FaaS platform supporting multiple business lines and use cases across American Express. • We are currently looking for a strong SRE engineer to join our India team. As an SRE Engineer on One Data you will: Use your on-call shift to prevent incidents from ever happening. • Run our infrastructure with etcD, Envoy , Ansible and Open Shift. Make monitoring and alerting alert on symptoms and not on outages. • Document every action so your findings turn into repeatable actions and then into automation.• Improve the deployment process to make it intuitive and fast for the engineering teams. Design, build and maintain core infrastructure pieces that allow One Data scaling to support hundred of thousands of concurrent users. • Debug production issues across services and levels of the stack. Plan the growth of One Data platform infrastructure. • You may be a fit to this role if you have some of these inclinations: Think about systems - edge cases, failure modes, behaviors, specific implementations. • Know your way around Linux and the Unix Shell and have strong shell scripting skills. • Hands on programming skills - using Java, Kotlin, Node or Go Have an urge to collaborate and communicate asynchronously. • Have an urge to document all the things so you don't need to learn the same thing twice. • Have an enthusiastic, go-for-it attitude. • When you see something broken, you can't help but fix it. • Have an urge for delivering quickly and iterating fast. • Have experience with Nginx, HAProxy, Envoy, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, or similar technologies • Experience with SCM skills using Git • Hands on skills in using either Splunk , Elastic, DataDog or similar log management tools • Have a good understanding about the JVM internals and are passionate to dig deeper to access heap dumps or thread dumps using JFR , VisualVM or similar tool chains. • Have a good understanding on analytics and monitoring and experience working with Prometheus and Grafana Projects you could work on: Coding/Enhancing our internal CLI tool using Go Lang. • Improving our Prometheus Monitoring or building new Metrics Helping platform teams deploy and fix new versions of One Data Plan, prepare for, and execute the migration of our core platform tools from virtual machines to cloud-native container-based deployments with Kubernetes on Open Shift platform. • Plan and prepare for a multi-hybrid cloud strategy for scaling One Data platform.Preferred Skill and ExperienceBanking Domain KnowledgeAdditional Required Qualifications• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution.
