The Colorado Department of Public Safety is seeking a Budget & Policy Analyst V. This position is open only to current Colorado state residents. A list established with this recruitment may be used to fill other similar positions within the Colorado Department of Public Safety in the next 12 months.

Classification and Salary: Budget & Policy Analyst V. Anticipated Hiring Range: $8,898 - $11,568/month; $106,776 - $138,816/year. Full Salary Range: $8,898 - $14,238/month; $106,776 - $170,856/year. About the Work Unit

The Executive Director's Office (EDO) is the backbone of the Colorado Department of Public Safety, providing effective administrative and management services to the Department's operating divisions. The EDO includes the Executive Director and Deputy Executive Director, Administrative Services Office, Human Resources Office, Compliance Office, Colorado Integrated Criminal Justice Information Systems, and Office of School Safety.

Work Environment

• Hybrid, two days in the Lakewood office minimum
• Work unit core business hours, Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., with some flexibility available

About the Job

This position reports to the Budget Director and is responsible for administration of a wide variety of department level ancillary programs and support services for the Administrative Services Office and for the supervision of division Budget Director staff. This position serves as a fully functioning deputy to the Department Budget Director who manages the Budget and Policy Unit as such specific duties occasionally include tasks typically performed by the Department Budget Director to include meeting demands of staff, stakeholders, and oversight bodies such as Legislative Council staff, Office of State Planning and Budgeting and the Joint Budget Committee staff.

Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights

To be considered for this position, you must meet one of the following options for consideration:

• Nine (9) years of professional experience in budget and fiscal policy analysis, development and implementation.
• A combination of related education and/or relevant professional experience in budget and fiscal policy analysis, development and implementation equal to nine (9) years. If you are using education to meet the minimum qualifications, transcripts must be attached at the time of application.
• Current, valid licensure as a CPA by the Colorado Board of Accountancy will substitute for six (6) years of the requirement. If you are using CPA licensure to meet the minimum qualifications, a copy must be attached at the time of application.

Conditions of Employment:

• Requires successful completion of a background investigation that includes a polygraph exam, a fingerprint based criminal history search, and reference checking.
