Job Description
PACU Registered Nurse (RN) - Day Shift

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

This position requires rotating day shifts that may vary between 07:00-15:30 for 2x8 hour shifts or 07:00-17:30 for 2x10 hour shifts. The hours for the PACU are from 07:30 to 20:30. The nurse could be scheduled at any time during these hours.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced PACU Registered Nurse to provide high-quality patient care in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit. The RN will be responsible for monitoring patients recovering from anesthesia, administering medications, and ensuring a safe and comfortable recovery environment.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and assess patient vital signs and overall condition post-operatively.
  • Administer medications and manage IV therapy under established protocols.
  • Provide discharge instructions and education to patients and their families.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and float to other units as required.
Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure
  • Active RN license in Maryland or a compact state.
  • Current certifications in BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a PACU setting.
  • Previous charge experience is required.
  • Familiarity with Epic charting system is preferred.
