Usher CaptainAbout the RoleWe're hiring an Usher Captain to lead and manage volunteer usher teams of up to 22 during live events. This person will oversee guest seating and floor operations, support the volunteer team, and serve as the primary liaison between ushers, Front of House Operations, and HSG program management.What You'll DoLead and supervise up to 22 volunteer ushersConduct pre-event briefings and communicate assignments, seating maps, and event instructionsArrive 30-60 minutes before doors open to assist with program preparation and portal setupAssign usher posts and ensure the team is ready before doors openOversee guest seating and ensure guests are directed to the correct sectionsResolve seating conflicts, ticketing discrepancies, and guest concernsEnforce venue policies, including late seating, food and beverage, and photography guidelinesCoordinate ADA and accessible seating assistanceMonitor usher performance and reposition team members as neededServe as the primary communication point between ushers and venue/event leadershipMaintain radio communication with the House ManagerUnderstand and follow venue emergency and evacuation proceduresDocument and report incidents or escalated guest concernsWhat We're Looking ForMust be 18 years or olderEnglish-speaking required; bilingual candidates preferredStrong leadership, communication, and guest service skillsAble to read and understand seating charts and floor plansProfessional and composed in busy, customer-facing environmentsAble to stand, walk, and navigate stairs, ramps, and inclines for extended periodsAvailable for an event-based schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidaysMust pass a client-required background checkPreferred ExperiencePerforming arts, theater, convention center, or similar venue experienceExperience leading 10 or more people in a guest-facing environmentFamiliarity with ADA accommodations and accessible seatingExperience training or orienting volunteers or seasonal employeesBilingual English/Spanish or another language is a plus If you're a confident leader who knows how to keep a team organized while delivering an excellent guest experience, apply today!
