Licensing Engineer

Our client is seeking a Licensing Engineer to work within their facilities located in Charlotte, NC for an initial 1-year assignment.

This opportunity sits within the nuclear regulatory and compliance space, supporting complex licensing, Technical Specification compliance, operability, reportability and NRC inspection activities. The role is suited to a senior-level regulatory affairs professional who can deliver high-quality technical work with minimal supervision and provide subject matter expertise across nuclear licensing matters. This position also offers the chance to contribute to power uprate licensing documentation and support key compliance processes in a technically demanding environment.

Job Responsibilities:

• Prepare high-quality regulatory and licensing deliverables in a timely manner with minimal supervision.
• Support nuclear site activities related to Technical Specification compliance, licensing, operability and reportability.
• Provide expertise on nuclear regulatory matters affecting licensing and compliance.
• Support NRC inspection-related activities and compliance processes.
• Contribute to external interface activities that impact licensing and compliance programs and processes.
• Provide mentoring and guidance to junior members of Regulatory Affairs.

Required Skills:

• Essential: Strong capability in Technical Specification compliance, licensing, operability and reportability.
• Essential: Ability to produce accurate, high-quality technical documentation with limited supervision.
• Essential: Advanced knowledge of nuclear licensing and compliance processes.
• Essential: Ability to support regulatory inspections and external interface activities.
• Essential: Mentoring capability for junior regulatory affairs professionals.

Education/Experience:

• Essential: 15 years of discipline experience in nuclear regulatory matters.
• Essential: Experience operating as an individual contributor and recognized subject matter expert in licensing and/or compliance.
• Essential: Relevant experience supporting technical regulatory matters within the nuclear sector.
• Essential: Licensing experience in the commercial nuclear space.
• Desirable: Relevant licensing experience in power uprate licensing documentation.
