Shipping and Receiving Manager

Overview Shipping and Receiving Manager – Atlas Fibre, Northbrook, IL. Range: $65,000 - $75,000 per year. Full-Time. Location: 3411 Woodhead Dr, Northbrook, IL 60062. About The Company Join our advanced manufacturing team specializing in cutting-edge composites and thermoset materials for the Automotive, Aviation, and Aerospace industries. What You'll Do Oversee all inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring accurate documentation, timely processing, and compliance with company and carrier standards. Manage and schedule a team of shipping/receiving clerks and warehouse associates, including performance reviews and training. Coordinate with production, procurement, and sales teams to align shipping schedules with manufacturing output and customer delivery expectations. Monitor inventory levels by reconciling shipping and receiving records, conducting cycle counts, and flagging discrepancies. Ensure the shipping/receiving dock and warehouse areas meet safety, cleanliness, and OSHA compliance standards. Utilize warehouse management systems (ERP) to track shipments, generate reports, and maintain accurate records such as pick slips, bills of lading, and certificates of conformance. What You Bring Required Qualifications: 3-5 years minimum experience in shipping, receiving, or warehouse management, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Proven leadership experience managing a team in a fast-paced, high-volume setting. Proficiency with ERP/WMS systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong knowledge of domestic and international freight regulations, customs documentation, and carrier compliance requirements. Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines. Forklift certification (or ability to obtain) and familiarity with material handling equipment. High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Business preferred. Preferred Qualifications Previous inspection experience in aerospace, aviation, automotive, or composites manufacturing. Familiarity with advanced materials such as composites and thermosets. Work Environment Climate-controlled manufacturing facility with state-of-the-art machining equipment. The role requires standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working in an environment with noise and exposure to composite dust (proper PPE provided).
